I am not sure how or where last year disappeared, but apparently it flew by and I did not send any news out to you. That could be a good thing if you do not want to go through emails. It could also be less than good if you want to know what is going on at Crystal Vision Quilting.
It is hard to believe that we are at month of March and I did not have any resolutions for this year. I know that I have goals I would like to accomplish, but resolutions do not seem part of those goals.
When I think of my goals, I start to list them and find I run of of paper and space so will not inflict that pain upon you, my readers. I will share a couple of hopes for the coming months that you may find interesting.
I hope to share more photos of work that I am involved with the process. Sometimes I do free motion work on a top and it is difficult to show the quilting design with the photos I take. Many pieces have a matching thread so as to not detract from the original piece. These are quilts that I have not traditionally shared with you. I hope to share and highlight the great quilts that are being made. I will continue to share the free motion quilting I am doing as well.
I hope to teach more this year. Currently, I am teaching at Idaho Sew and Vac in Boise and Meridian. I have always had teaching as a great love of mine and in a former life was a teacher for many years.
Idaho Sew and Vac in Boise and Meridian are terrific! It is fabulous to be able to teach at such a great place. Everyone is so friendly and helpful! If you have questions, there is always someone knowledgeable to help answer questions. That is becoming a rarity in our fast serve society. I teach at both the Boise location on Overland and at the Meridian location on Fairview.
Currently, I am teaching a beginning quilting class. We are halfway through this class but I will be repeating it again. If you are interested in this class, call and get your name on the waiting list. Then we can notify you when I will be teaching it again.
The beginning of April, I will be teaching the Intermediate Quilting class seen above. This is a photo of one of the tops made the last session I taught this class. It is a great class to refresh your skills and build new skills to use on your quilting journey.
I just started a new Block of the Month called “Up, Up and Away! It is not too late to sign up for this BOM. It is a nine month series.
I am also teaching Cabin By the Lake Block of the Month once again. It is a great quilt to also learn new skills as there are a variety of techniques taught in this class. It is a ten month series.
I plan on having a vending booth at several shows this year, so look for me! I hope to connect with many of you this year. Time continues on its path and life is precious. Be joyful and appreciate every day!
